How many treatments will I need?
The average number of treatments most patients need is between 5 and 10. Patients with smaller or significantly faded tattoos may only need as little as 3 to 4 treatments before seeing complete removal. However, to determine the number of treatments you and your tattoo will need, one of our laser technicians must assess it in person. Love It or Lose It uses a variety of tattoo factors to best estimate the number of treatments you will need, including:

Does the laser hurt?
Many patients have described laser tattoo removal as having a rubber band snapped against the skin. Each patient will have a different experience than others. However, if you can sit through tattoo application, you can tolerate having one removed. Fortunately, laser tattoo removal is a quick procedure that lasts anywhere from 1 to 20 minutes, depending on the size of the tattoo being treated. Are there any side effects?

Patients with darker skin may experience some lightening of the surrounding skin. This is also temporary and will go away over time.
